You directly provide Bergwandercamp with the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you register for participating in Bergwandercamp or when you visit our website.

Bergwandercamp collects the following data when you register for participation in Bergwandercamp:

Name, city, country (so that you can form a car pool), email address, and a mobile phone number so that we can reach you while you are travelling. Furthermore we save the year and week of your participation.

Data colllected on the basis of legitimae interest

Based on our legitimate interests, we collect the following data for the purpose of running this website. Your data is not used for any other purposes or shared with third parties. It is removed upon your request.

Cookies

The website of Bergwandercamp stores Cookies on your computer which are necessary for the website to function properly, for instance when you register for Bergwandercamp. We do not track you using these cookies. You can delete them after visiting our website.

Bergwandercamp’s website includes pictures from Wikimedia Commons and data from Openstreetmap.

How Bergwandercamp uses your data

Bergwandercamp collects your data so that we can:

  • Send registration forms to participants.
  • Manage the availabilty of places in the group houses.
  • Manage a waiting list.
  • Inform participants.
  • Keep the website running stable and safely.

We share your contact details with the other participants of a week in Bergwandercamp so that everybody can plan the journey and activities in advance (unless you object that).

We compile a list of the participants of the last years in order to send e-mail with information on how to register (or paper based registration forms, if you ask us for that).

In order to review your consent on publishing photos on the website and on sharing your contact details, we compile a complete list of participants of Bergwandercamp.

Bergwandercamp has to send the names of the participants to the landlord.

Some holiday regions issue personalized guest cards. On request we send the names of the participants to local tourist agencies for this purpose.

Pictures from Bergwandercamp

Bergwandercamp operates a password protected photo gallery (Piwigo Software). Registration is possible without providing contact details (except for an email-address which we need to check if you are a Bergwandercamp participant). If you participated in Bergwandercamp and do not want to register, you can ask Bergwandercamp for a password of a general user account.

Photos that you uploaded to the gallery are accessible to and can be downloaded by other users after activation of their account for viewing Bergwandercamp photos.

The administrator of the Photo gallery has access to the user names and last login dates, and he can reset passwords. Passwords are not stored as plain text.

How Bergwandercamp stores your data

The server which operates the website, e-mail and the registrations of the participants is located in Germany. The software is kept up to date and securely configured according to the current information available.

The access protocol of the website is stored on the web server and deleted automatically after 4 weeks.

E-Mail you send to addresses ending with 'bergwandercamp.de' is handled and stored by the server which is operated by Bergwandercamp.

We delete user accounts of the password protected photo gallery after more than 3 years of inactivity.

After 10 years we destroy the accounting papers.

Your data protection rights

Bergwandercamp would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every participant is entitled to the following:

The right to access – You have the right to request Bergwandercamp for copies of your personal data.

The right to rectification – You have the right to request that Bergwandercamp correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request Bergwandercamp to complete the information you believe is incomplete.
